LEED: Developed by USGBC, LEED addresses all building types and emphasizes state-of-the-art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials and resources selection, and indoor environmental quality. LEED is a practical rating tool for green building design and construction that provides immediate and measurable results for building owners and occupants.
The LEED rating system awards points towards the certification of a building through project checklist credits. Frost Products can contribute in the following credit categories: Recycled content (MR credit 4.1 and 4.2), Regional Materials (MR credit 5.1 and 5.2) and low emitting materials (EQ credit 4.2). Listed below are the relevant Frost Product statements for these credit categories.
MR 4.2 Requirement: Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of the post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post-industrial content constitutes at least 15% of the total value of the materials in the project.
MR 5.2 Requirement: Use a minimum of 20% of building materials or products for which at least 80% of the mass is extracted, processed and manufactured within 800 km (500 miles) of the project site (or 2,400 km if shipped by rail or water).
MR 4.2 Requirement: Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of the post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the post-industrial content constitutes at least 15% of the total value of the materials in the project.
